Use New Data Fields

To use new data fields in the Segment Builder, first connect and join their corresponding Snowflake tables to your identity table in the Schema Builder.

Connect a table

  1. In the Schema Builder, click Add Table +.

  2. In 1. Choose a table, configure the table by specifying the:

    1. Table Type
    2. Table Location
    3. Table Name

Join key selection

  1. In 2. Join to your Identity Table, select the field on each side that connects the new table to your identity table. The new table's fields and your identity table's fields appear side by side, each with its own search, and a summary below confirms the configured join.

Content Fields

Every field on the table can be used in segmentation automatically. To use a field in Content — emails, templates, journeys — check it in the 3. Content Fields section when you connect the table to Simon. This helps you keep a clean interface by not surfacing every single field you've added to Simon in the Flow Builder.

  1. For each field you want to use in content, check the Use in content box. If a field isn't checked, it won't be visible in the Flow Builder.
  2. Set your content aliases. Simon automatically prefixes each alias with the view name to maintain uniqueness and prevent naming collisions across tables (e.g. if two different tables both contain the field first_name). The alias becomes editable once the field is checked for content.
  1. Click Save. Your new table will now appear in the Schema Builder, and the data is available for use in segmentation and personalization.
